A normally quiet Taradale street was filled with Police and Fire vehicles as a P-Lab was discovered and then made safe. Concerns over safety meant the bomb squad was called in to check the property out before the clean up could begin. Photos are on SNPA.

Napier and Taradale firefighters responded to a fire in Taradale Seafoods fish and chip shop at 3am this morning.

Arriving before the fire managed to flashover, crews made entry and saved the shop from more serious damage.
